Thanks so much for stopping by and taking a minute to read my featured blog post here at Amy Grace Monograms! Don’t you just love Amy and AGM?! I can’t get enough of her and her products! They are so perfect and easy on the budget! I’ve been using AGM items since April of this year and I’m in LOVE! It’s funny- I tried to knock monograms out of my life but Jesus put them right back in when I met Amy! He gave me a real life friend, someone to bounce business ideas off of, and some cute products through Amy! It’s been an absolute joy getting to know Amy, growing our businesses together, and having another #girlboss friend!
On another note, I’d love to tell you a little about me! My name is Erika James Carder (yes, I go by that because I can’t let go of my maiden name. I love it way too much to drop it on my license or when I introduce myself)! I am married to Dylan and I am Cooper’s mama! (He’s my fur child, and he kinda makes me not want to have real life kids because I love him so much-kidding-kinda.) I drink about 12 glasses of water a day, snack constantly, and eat at Chick-fil-A for at least 6 meals a week. I wish I loved to exercise, but I just don’t. I carry a backpack almost everywhere I go, because for whatever reason I feel like I can’t leave my house without two planners, a notebook, way too many pens, my camera, an extra lense, some sort of cup that holds water (with an AGM monogram on it, of course), two packs of gum, and some snacks. I am a recently “retired” (after 3 years) special education teacher and I am pursuing a career in professional photography and social media marketing! I’ve been working a social media position at Chick-fil-A in Atlanta for the past 3 years and I fell in love with all things social media! It’s such a neat way to connect to the world! I love using social media to grow my business, champion my friend’s businesses on, and experiment with some creativity! Working for Chick-fil-a (Chickie-lay, like I call it) has opened a lot of doors of opportunity for me in regards to photography and social media marketing. A great lady in my community caught wind of my work and wooed me into working for her full time! I am IN LOVE with my job now! I am currently the Social Media Marketing director for a business called Tidy Snap! It’s so much fun to get to work with a product and market it in lifestyle ways! I take 95% of my pictures at my friend Lorey’s house (@foxholefarmhouse)! It’s been so much fun to have her champion on my career while I drag her through mud and muck to market her amazingly beautiful (HAND BUILT BY HER AND HER HUSBAND) farmhouse on Instagram. Okay, you get it- I love to show off my friends and champion on what they have going on whenever I can- and on that note, if you don’t have Lauren Mitchell’s devotional, “Steadfast”, go ahead and get on Amazon and buy it. It’ll change your life. Okay, I’m done…(but probably not).
Alongside of working as a Social Media Marketing Director, I am a product and lifestyle photographer. I’ve worked with some amazing companies over the past year and I am looking forward to some amazing collaborations this year with other businesses and other professional photographers in the Southeast! It’s been a really neat thing to photograph products for different businesses and take some lifestyle shots along the way! You can check out my photography page here: ejamescarderphotography.com !
Finally, my latest career pursuit is to be a lifestyle blogger. It’s a process that’s moving slowly, but I’m a big believer in making slow, but steady progress. I’ll hopefully be diving into blogging more within the next few months and you’ll hopefully be joining me to watch that journey! And who knows, it might not work out, and that’s okay! I’ve been telling myself that I don’t want to not pursue something because I’m scared of it or I don’t know if it will work out the way I would like for it to work out. I’ve decided to jump in and give it a shot! I can never say I didn’t try!
So, I think that’s enough about me! If you want to keep up with my journey, see some pretty pictures, and maybe watch me in a trial and error process of *hopefully* becoming a lifestyle blogger, give me a follow on Instagram, @erikajmscarder ! I’d love to connect with you!
Much, Much Love,
